Education & College Admissions Counselor

Full-time position based in Cupertino & Fremont, California (San Francisco Bay Area)

Insight’s counselors work directly with middle & high school students and their families. The work includes helping students plan and define their high school curriculum, design daily, weekly, monthly and/or yearly academic & activity calendars. You will also assist students in improving their time management, organizational, and study skills. In general, you will guide and assist your clients through every stage of their high school journey including (but not limited to) academics, standardized testing, extracurricular activities & internships, leadership and community service work (both in the US and abroad), and, of course, college admissions (essays, applications, interviews, scholarships and more). 


  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree from a top-tier, selective university
  • Familiarity with undergraduate college admissions process in the United States
  • A stellar academic profile including top scores on SAT/ACT, SAT Subject Tests, AP Tests
  • Multi-tasking whiz
  • Enthusiastic, passionate educator with practical business sense
  • Excited about working with high school kids and their families
  • FUN, Self-motivated, conscientious, innovative, and ambitious

Nice to Have

  • 1-2 years of College Admissions/College Counseling experience as an independent counselor, member of a larger organization, or undergraduate college admissions officer
  • Mastery/experience teaching the SAT or other subjects (relevant to high school/standardized test curricula)

You will divide your time between Cupertino and Fremont, although our head office is in Cupertino. You must be extremely trustworthy and ambitious with a passion for college admissions and business.
